Manjalara Pork Noodle

I've came to realized that pork noodles are one of the very popular choices for breakfast and lunch especially for working classes. Not lacked of options around PJ & KL area, namely Ah Or in Sunway Mentari, Taman Bahagia corner coffee shop, Subang SS15, OUG seafood pork noodle. Let me brief you through how I rate them.

Ah Or Mentari - taste ok, a little too salty, overpriced. You'll need to drink a lot of water after that (too much MSG)

Bahagia - over-salty & oily, never fancy this

SS15 - Above average and it's better than his sister's stall in mentari

OUG - they were once pretty good, quality dropped. But that particular coffee shop serves very good teh ice, don't forget to order one.

Alright, let's come back to this pork noodle that I frequent the most.

Pork lard topping is already a must for a standard bowl of pork noodle because it just gives you the extra 'ohm' in terms of the smell and taste density. We always think pork noodle goes best with 'lou shu fun', and we never like the yellow noodle because the alkaline taste would affect the taste of soup. This bowl here has generous amount of pork slices and a piece of minced pork which is pretty good in terms of taste and texture. A couple slices of pig's liver were cooked to perfection, not too cooked not too raw. Remember to eat the liver first or it will be overcooked by the hot soup if you leave it till the end. The reason why I rate this highly is because only minimal amount of oil used, the soup is clearer and saltiness level is just nice to my liking. Most importantly, I don't feel thirsty after that = no MSG !
If you're looking for good bowl of  pork noodle, here's the place.

Madras Lane 's Curry Laksa

Madras Lane 's Curry Laksa

We went down to Petaling Street earlier to Shin Kee for lunch. As we pass by the madras lane we were tempted by the aunty at the noodle stall. We order a bowl of her curry laksa to try out. Well nothing beats a piping hot bowl of curry laksa on a gloomy Monday.

This bowl of curry laksa cost RM 5.00. Consist of fried pork skin, long bean, brinjal, bean curd and cockles. there are few types of curry laksa to be found in KL, first is the more diluted soup, second is the thick chicken curry soup, this bowl is neither diluted nor thick, it falls in between both of them, more towards the pasar kind of Curry noodle. The cockles were cooked to perfection and it was one of the plus point, however, we were disappointed the chilli paste, lack of oomph and taste kinda normal to us.

Taste wise, it is decent enough to give it a try when you happen to be in around that area.
