Ocean Point Restaurant (海城小吃飯店)-Kota Kemuning

Ocean Point Restaurant is one of the famous neighbourhood restaurants in Kota Kemuning behind the row of shoplots right next to McDonalds. They specialised in all kind of Chinese food ranging from rice, noodles, porridge to Bak Kut Teh. There are a few popular dishes here, bullfrog porridge, fish head noodle, hokkien mee, homemade fishball & curry fish head.

But as for this round, we preferred to have something soupy. Yes, it's my top favourite dish of this shop - Fish Head Noodle.

Soup boiled with preserved vegetables, tomato & yam are more commonly used in most of the fish head noodles. This fish head noodle uses chinese cabbage & yam as the based of the broth, gives you a totally kind of fish head noodle comparison to the others.

The highlight of this dish is actually the excellent broth, chinese cabbage and yam flavour are intense. According to the boss,  they will first pre blend the yam to form powder and then the yam powder will be added into the broth during preparation.

This claypot fish head noodles consist of garoupa fish, tomatoes, enoki mushroom, Chinese cabbage yam and lots of ginger. The yam used was powdery and melts in your mouth.

The bihun used here is different from the normal bihun found outside, it's springier and slightly wider. They use fresh garoupa for the fish ,so it's not fishy at all !! I can still taste the freshness of the garoupa running in my mouth😃. One thing I hate about most of the fish head noodle is there are a lot of stalls that used pre-fried fish, and making the whole bowl of soup very fishy.

It costs us RM30, for 2 pax. RM15/pax may seem high for a bowl of fish head noodle, but looking at the quality & the garoupa fish, we think its worth the money.

Highly recommended.👍👍
