Yen Wen Thai Restaurant @ Kepong

The plan of the night was actually a bowl of satisfying Ramen, when we were on our way out, we just suddenly had the craving for Thai food, after some hard thoughts, we decided to come for Yee Wen Thai again. Yee wen Thai is open by a Thai couple , infact the staff there are Thai. They serve pretty authentic Thai cuisine. It was a Sunday night, took us half an hour to get a table.

This restaurant is pretty hidden behind some trees in Kepong Bharu

Lime Steam Siakap Fish (RM38)

We've waited for an hour for the first dish to arrive because of the crowd, we've been here a couple of times and tasted quite a number of their dishes. This round we ordered the lime steam siakap. Fish was fresh and the soup of the fish worth a mention, the sourness just got us hungrier and we actually finished half a plate of rice just with the soup, sweetness and spiciness were just nice for our liking. However, they over steam the siakap fish, which made it a little imperfect.

Tom yum Kung (RM20)

The Tom yum Kung, was good, flavorsome and just the right thickness for the soup. A lot of fresh seafood in it, prawns, cuttlefish, and fish.

Fried Kangkung (RM15)

This was just normal, because too much of flour used and just the usual Thai chili sauce provided. We thought A-Wet Thai cook this better and the sauce was definitely way more superior than this.

Pandan Coconut too flush down the spiciness

Nangka Cendol with Coconut Milk

Just forget about it. Cendol was way too soft & nangka too little. Stick back to the coconut.

Overall we had a statisfying meal . a good place to visit if you crave for Thai food & remember do not order their prawn sashimi, not fresh and tasted like "you're gonna get yourself some stomach upset". The damaged this time was around RM 80.00 for two person, not cheap but justified by their serving size.
