Restaurant Nepal @ Plaza Damas

Directly situated opposite TGIF in Plaza Damas. Nepal restaurant is just four months old serving authentic Himalayan Cuisine.

I think the interior design should be Nepalis style too. I never really been exposé to Nepalese ID before though. But this restaurant is comfy with soft Himalayan music from the background and dim lighting. Great place to have a quiet dinner.

A very simple menu indeed. There's pictures behind for their chef recommended dishes.

              Momo( RM12.00)

Started off with a dish call Momo, basically like our chinese dumpling but made with chicken meat instead. There's three types of cooking method you can choose from deep fried, pan fried to steam dumplings. The fried one scores better than the steam one, because of the thickness of the skin I personally thinks the fried one reduce the 'jelakness' of the dumpling. Our siu long bao beats momo steam dumpling .The sauce is kinda special, the lighter orangy color sauce is made of tomato and peanut butter with lots of unknown spices. The darker sauce carry a hint of spiciness and made out of chilis, tomatoes and spices too. Forget about the soup , taste like it's made out of Maggie chicken cubes.

          Chatamari( RM 12)

Chatamari, Nepalese version of pizza, which has a thin crust rice flour base and is topped with minced chicken, spring onions, tomatoes and egg. The crust was nicely made thin and crispy with lots of eggy taste. The pizza is nice at the crut but its kind of tasteless. Not too great for me though.

Khasiko Masu Bhat ( RM 17.00)

Traditional thali set with a choice of chicken or mutton, I chooses the later one. The rice set is affordable at only RM 17.00, comes with Nepalese curry lamb, curry vegetables, black bean dhal. The curry lamb was great, tender and tasty. Others side dishes never really caught my attention. The black bean dhal was something new to me, it doesn't taste like our normal dhal. This one has slight stronger bean taste.

Overall it's a great experience if you have not tasted Nepalese cuisine before. To me the Nepalese cuisine carry a strong influence of Indian cuisine, but at a milder taste.

La Cocina Spanish Restaurant@ Taipan Subang

Craving for Spanish out of sudden. And the nearest place from Kota kemuning was Subang. So we drop by La Cocina to fix the craving.

A compact and homely restaurant. Came in with a big smile and welcome from the waiters. The restaurant was filled with soft Spanish music.

Cute polka dots table cloths

We order a few  tapas and a paella for sharing. All tapas come with hot baquette. Free flow of breads here.

Fried Spanish Mahon Cheese( rm 19.90)

Pure cows milk cheese from Spain and button mushrooms deep fried and serve with garlic mayonnaise. I love this so much, the cheese taste was strong and taste good even without the mayonnaise. Some of the bigger pieces, come with a piece of mushroom wrap inbetween the cheese. Superb, we love it.

Lamb meat balls( RM 12.50)

Spanish lamb meat ball served with herb tomato sauce. The meat ball tasted not bad, texture was good. The only disappointment is the sauce. The herb tomato sauce taste more like diluted Maggie tomato sauce just slightly more sourish.

Baked Escargot( RM 16.50)

Escargot baked with garlic herb butter cream. Sauce was tasty the escargot was not bad. It will be better if the escargot were fresher.

Fried Cauliflower( RM 8.90)

This was really a bad choice. The batter was too pepperish and doesn't matched with the cauliflower

Negres Paellas( RM 70.00)

The long waited squid black ink paella. It takes around 25 minutes to cook. And beware if you wanted to order negres( squid black ink) please do call up before hand, because they don't serve it everyday, and even if they serve its on first come first serve.
The Spanish rice was cooked in squid black ink , prawns, shrimps, fish fillet, squid, mussels, clams and vegetables.
This paella was really good. The rice was perfectly cook. It's very tasty and the squid ink enchanced it taste. We love it . Just that the prawns was not that fresh. The mussels was pretty tasteless.but overall the paella was good value. The portion was just right for sharing of two.

Miam Miam @ Gurney Paragon Penang

After having a disspointed meal in at Morganfield. I went over Miam Miam for dessert. Miam Miam in French means yum yum. This restaurant serve fusion cuisine of French and Japanese.

Combination of classic Asian interior, giving it a homely feel.

                        Green tea latte

It comes in this pretty porceline cup lik those china tea cup, without a handle. This was really good, Way better than. Starbucks or any other places I tasted before.

    French toast with maple syrup

Close shot of the French toast

Here the French toast is serve with a scoop of fresh cream. The French toast was perfect. Crispy on the outer layer and soft at the inner. Additional of maple syrup enchanced the taste of the toast. I love it so much.

Maria's Restaurant Cafe

Hidden in the busy street of metropolitan square in Damansara Perdana. One can surely miss this place. Maria's is located above Citibank on ur right when you come from the Main Street.

The entrance of Maria's beautiful with all the wooden design.

Cozy interior with checked table clothes.

Smoked salmon salad ( RM 19.90)

Nothing special ,I think they overdo on the dressing part.

Oxtail Soup ( RM 20++)

This soup was superb. We really loved it, it was cooked to perfection. The oxtail was tender and tasty. The soup was just the right thickness.

Australian chilled black angus with red wine sauce

Australian black angus

We order the same main course, both we Australian black angus 200g, only striploin available. The steak come out inconsistent for both of the set. We order medium rare, turn up to be a variety of medium  and done. We don't really fancy it. The meat we too coarse to our liking. But the meat was marinated pretty tasty.

       Tiramisu ( RM14.90)

We ordered two desserts. Tiramisu was ok, taste wise is good but I find the sponge cake was oversoak, very soggy and too wet to my liking.

We ordered another chocolate cake go share. It's kinda bad so just skip it.

Lewisgene @ Solaris Dutamas

On a lazy Saturday my sis and me decided to hangout here after a heavy meal at Uncle Jang. Lewisgene is situated above Chilla club.
The place was crowded. Interior was pretty and simple.

            Assorted tea leaves on display

The menu was written on the blackboard above the counter. They specialize in coffee , assorted coffee from standard coffee to speciality coffee. According to the waitress they uses coffee beans from Italy.

We ordered they tea time sets that come with waffle  and a coffee of choice.  The vanilla waffle taste so so only.

           Vanilla Waffle ( RM 13.90)

                Flat White ( RM 8.90)

Flat white was ok. Not too bad.

             Hot Chocolate (RM 10.90)

Taste terrible, super diluted, tasteless .My home made milo taste better than this.

           Cookies ( RM 11.90/ 100g)

Some cute cookies to add on. The taste is really not as good as it looks. Looks cute only.

Overall, simple interior,  nice music,Good to hangout. Food and drinks were so so only, don't expect too much from here.

Sage @ The Gardens

Feeling generous on a weekday I invited my sis for lunch in Sage. I always wanted to drop by Sage year by year pass by . Finally I make it here. I been to Cilantro countless time, love their food so much

Interior of Sage, was cool and elegant.

Here's the photo of my pretty lunch mate, before I show you all the food.

We ordered both discover lunch menu.

Bread as starter with basil, Parmesan and olive dip. The dip was very appetizing bread was serve hot from the oven.

Free welcome  drink, Soda mint mojito. Nice..

        Carpaccio of Hamachi

This the starter, carpaccio of hamachi with scallop tartare and avruga caviar. This dish was made to superb. The fish was fresh enhanced by the scallop tartare and caviar.

           Duck Confit

Duck confit as starter, this dish can be made to a main on its on. The sick confit was dressed with sesame dressing. Pretty interesting compare to classic duck confit. The skin of the duck was done perfectly crispy. But I find the meat slightly dry to my liking.

    Steamed Halibut

Now comes the main dish, steamed halibut wrapped with yuba and mushroom. Overall taste was ok. I find the piece of foe grais slightly bitter. The yuba( bean curd) was quite sweet.

            Medallion of beef

Medallion of beef is actually fillet mignon or commonly known as tenderloin. We love this dish more than the fish. The Spanish anchovy butter and the red wine really enhance the beef steaks.

       Cheese in a platter

     Praline parfait

Both dessert were good. The cheese, Robuchon and blue cheese were superb.i like the robuchon cheese more, taste pretty heavy.
Parfait was nice too

Overall we enjoy the meal and environment alot. And the is only Rm100 nett per set meal, good bargain.

La Creperie de Caroline@ Bangsar Telawi 3

This morning my bunch off BFF and I went to Bangsar for lunch. We went to a few restaurants, either the place was too full or too cramp for 8 of us plus two babies. Bump  into La Creperia Caroline accidentally while searching for place , the restaurant was pretty empty perfect for all of us. Greated warmly by a French Couple, gotten to know the restaunrant was only 10days old.

A nice and quiet place. The deco is simple and warm.

Breton Crepes (Sweet) and galletes( Savory) are best known specialities from the West region of France. Brittany, a region in northwest of France where is where the tools and techniques wee created and perfected, elevating the crepe to an art form.( Quoted from the menu)

The dishes were all in French, even with description we still totally got not idea what is it. Just be aware that they only serve crepes nothing more than that, savory or sweet.

The hot chocolate amuse me. First time being serve a hot chocolate in this way. The cup came with chocolate paste.

Tadaa.. After adding milk and a good stir. Here's a cup of nicely form hot chocolate. Taste wise I find it quite good.

La Breitz Burger ( RM 32.00)

Here's the dishes we order. Basically we order all the dishes recommend by the boss.
First to be served was the so call beef burger, La Breitz Burger. We did get a shock when we saw it we were expecting a burger formation as per title. Pretty amazing I should say, consisted of mince beef, egg, tomato and some stew veggie plus cheese. We find it pretty good.

La Pont- Aven (RM 32.00)

Next come the La Pont- Aven, consists of shrimps, scallop and fondue leek. Taste wise not bad.

La Complete (RM 25.00)

Here's the one we like the most we reorder this for second round, La Complete. Made of egg, turkey ham and cheese. Taste good and it's pretty special.

La Stanislas( RM 27.00)

La Stanislas is the name. Crepes wrap with goat cheese and Ratatouille. My friends don't like it at all. They find the goat cheese smells was overwhelming. For me I am ok with the cheese. But I don't like the Ratatouille, it tasted bland.

La Forestiere ( RM 28.00)

Last but no least here's  La Forestiere, basically comes with chicken chunks, mushroom and egg. Tasted ok. Not really memorable.

               Creme D' Oranges ( RM 39.00)

After all the savory crepes, we need desserts to balance back the meal. Look at it is all flamed up with Grand Marnier liquor. We like it, pretty awesome taste, the liquor enhance the fruitiness of the orange.

Chocolat Maison Et Bananas ( RM 29.00)

All my friends commented the chocolate paste look lik sh*t  shape. Chocolat Maison Et bananas, just crepes too with chocolate , grilled bananas sprinkle with icing. To me it taste like chocolate roti pisang.

Here's the pretty little angel Xixi to end the blog. We find the crepes pretty special, but best order a few for sharing. After eating so many types we find it quite jelat. Taste almost the same, just the topping were different. Just stay with La complete, the beef burger and the desserts.
